ECHA Public Consultation on CrVI – Restriction Proposal

ECHA Public Consultation on CrVI – Restriction Proposal

πŸ—£οΈ ECHA Public Consultation on Cr(VI)

A strategic opportunity for user companies

On April 11, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a preliminary restriction proposal for substances containing hexavalent chromium (CrVI). ECHA’s scientific committees (RAC and SEAC) will have 30 days to assess the dossier’s compliance with the REACH regulation.

🌍 The proposed technical documentation was only made public at the end of April, and our team is analyzing it thoroughly to provide your businesses with concrete and targeted support.

🎯The goal is to help you participate effectively in the public consultation and prepare for potential regulatory scenarios, making you part of the process and not just undergoing the consequent changes.

We plan to activate three levels of support, designed to meet the different needs of companies:

πŸ“Œ Individual and dedicated support , through a personalized and technical service;

πŸ“Œ Aggregate approach , for groups of companies belonging to the same sector or with similar characteristics ;

πŸ“Œ Joint initiative , aimed at all stakeholders involved in the use of chromium and chromates, with the aim of coordinating a shared position.

The available preliminary restriction proposal involves several CrVI-based substances, with the possibility of exemptions, emission rates and occupational exposure levels modulated according to uses, risks and available alternatives.

We invite all interested companies to actively participate in the public consultation . Your input can have a tangible impact on the outcome of the regulatory process and limit the impact on your industrial processes.
We are available to support you every step of the way, ensuring that your contributions are technically sound, well-structured, and consistent with your organization’s objectives.

Active participation is a strategic lever for anticipating regulatory changes and ensuring the operational continuity of your business. In the coming days, once the committees’ position on the proposed restriction is known, we will be able to offer our service in a more structured manner.
